Types of Addiction Care we Offer

At JourneyPure Emerald Coast, we help treat those who are addicted to drugs including the following:

  • Alcohol
  • Opioids
  • Prescription drugs
  • Methamphetamine
  • Cocaine
  • Ecstasy
  • Marijuana

We know that each and every patient of ours has his or her own relationship with drugs. Therefore, we conduct thorough and in-depth evaluations and assessments to help better understand each patient’s background. We will spend time gathering information regarding the patient’s past history of drug abuse and mental health, the length of time he or she has been abusing drugs for, if he or she is also experiencing a mental illness, what his or her family history of substance abuse is, and so on. As we collect this information, we can then determine which one of our comprehensive programs is the best fit for the patient.

At our drug rehab in the Tallahassee area, we offer various levels of addiction treatment so that everyone has an opportunity to receive the appropriate care they need to end their active addictions and begin living in recovery. Our programming consists of the following:

Residential rehab

Patients of our residential rehab will live at the facility for the duration of their care. Typically, patients stay for 30, 60, or 90 days depending on their needs. At this time, they will participate in detox (if necessary) and attend daily therapy sessions and activities to help them address the issues related to their substance use disorder and help them build a strong foundation for their recovery.

Partial hospitalization program (PHP)

A partial hospitalization program, or a PHP, does not require patients to live at the facility, as they can live at home or in a sober house. They will come to the facility on a regular basis, however, and spend the majority of their time there throughout the week. Our PHP is rigorous and keeps patients actively engaged in daily therapy and exercises to develop and enhance their skill set so that recovery can be possible.

Intensive outpatient program (IOP)

Very similar to our partial hospitalization program, our intensive outpatient program (or IOP) allows patients to live at home but still receive a high focus of therapy. Patients of our IOP do not spend as much time at the facility as patients of the PHP do, however, dedicate a large portion of their days to receiving treatment. Many patients of our residential rehab and our partial hospitalization program transition down into our intensive outpatient program prior to completing their treatment at our drug rehab in Tallahassee.

Once our patients are enrolled in the appropriate programs, they will start participating in the evidence-based therapies we offer, as well as obtain specialized services if deemed necessary.

Therapies and Services at Our Rehab

At our rehab by Tallahassee, we use countless therapies to help patients learn how to manage their substance use disorders. Some of these therapies include, however, are not limited to, the following:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group counseling
  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Experiential therapy
  • Motivational interviewing

Additionally, we provide services that can address the more unique needs of our patients. These services include:

Medication-assisted treatment, in particular, is one of our most utilized services, as it is designed to meet the needs of patients who are dependent on opioids like heroin, fentanyl, OxyContin, Vicodin, and more. Patients receiving medication-assisted treatment will take FDA approved medications to help reduce (and eventually eliminate) their dependency on opioids. At our drug rehab in Tallahassee, we use Suboxone, which is an opioid-based prescription medication that is less potent than other prescription opioids and works by partially blocking the opioid receptors in the brain. As a result, patients do not experience such painful withdrawal symptoms while detoxing, nor do they have to deal with as many overpowering cravings.

Additional services we offer at our drug rehab include the Healer’s Program for medical professionals and the Freedom Program for veterans, their families, and those men and women currently serving our country.
