When it Comes to Navigating Treatment Options, We’re Here to Help You Find the Best Fit
The admissions process begins with a call where you’ll speak with one of our admissions counselors. We are available 24/7 to help answer all of your questions about our program and whether we may be right for you. We care about your health and are committed to finding an appropriate treatment plan for you whether that be with us or another provider. Because personal information will be discussed during the call, be sure to be in a private place where you can speak freely.
Below are some questions you may want to ask when finding the right treatment for you or a loved one:
Can you tell me about your treatment approach? What levels of care and other services do you offer?
As one of the JourneyPure premier rehabilitation centers, JourneyPure Emerald Coast offers alcohol abuse, addiction and dual diagnosis treatment services that are evidence-based or validated by scientific research. Our clinical and medical staff stay up-to-date on the latest medical model treatment methods striving to always provide patients with the highest level of care available.
The medical model of addiction, or “disease model”, is a modern interpretation of the addiction cycle. It suggests that there are biological, psychological, or sociological reasons underlying the nature of addiction. Basing our alcohol abuse treatments on the medical model helps us identify and resolve the internal issues that lead to an alcohol addiction.
The levels of care we offer are:
- Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
- Family Programming
How do you decide what a person’s treatment plan will include? Do you start with a complete assessment and diagnosis?
JourneyPure Emerald Coast will conduct a free assessment via your initial phone call to determine if our addiction treatment program is the right fit for you. We are committed to your recovery success, and we will help you find a treatment solution even if it’s not with us. When reaching out to JourneyPure Emerald Coast to seek alcohol abuse treatment help for yourself or on behalf of a loved one, we will be collecting information to complete a patient assessment:
- Patient’s full name, birthdate and social security number
- Patient’s insurance card
- Patient’s drug and alcohol addiction history
- Patient’s mental health history
After answering these upfront questions, there will be an additional intake assessment that will happen once you arrive at the JourneyPure Emerald Coast location. At JourneyPure Emerald Coast, we believe each patient deserves an addiction treatment plan as unique as they are. Our staff performs thorough physical, mental and psychological evaluations to create customized treatment plans that are tailored to fit the needs of each client for long-term addiction recovery.
Some of the therapies we offer:
- Motivational Enhancement Therapy
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Neurofeedback/Biofeedback Treatments
- Experiential Therapy
What arrangements do you have to address other medical or mental health issues while someone is in treatment?
It is not uncommon for patients suffering from alcohol abuse to also experience co-occurring mental health disorders. Dual diagnosis is when an individual who is suffering from addiction also suffers from co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, or bipolar. Having a co-occurring mental health issue is common in alcohol addiction. In fact, people with mental health disorders are far more likely to abuse substances in order to cope. There are approximately 9 million Americans who abuse alcohol or drugs that have an undiagnosed mental health disorder. Sadly, only about seven percent of these people receive the treatment they need.
Because addiction symptoms mirror mental health disorder symptoms, dual diagnosis can be tricky. JourneyPure Emerald Coast is a premier rehabilitation center that provides integrated, comprehensive care to patients experiencing co-occurring disorders.
Are you able to arrange for someone to prescribe a medication to treat alcohol use disorder if it is appropriate?
Our process for treating alcoholism begins with a medically assisted detox, which protects the patient from the potentially fatal effects of alcohol withdrawal. Our staff provides 24/7 care to reduce the discomfort of withdrawal symptoms, making the transition to sober living less overwhelming.
Treatment and Medication
JourneyPure utilizes a combination of evidence-based therapies that encourage our patients to actively engage in their recovery process. All alcohol abuse treatment plans are created on a case by case basis, and that includes the conversation regarding medication. We also provide holistic treatments such as: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and experiential therapies to treat a patient’s mind, body and spirit. Our staff will work diligently to diagnose any co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders and depression. Our goal is to find the unique solution that works in treating the individual, giving each client the necessary tools to succeed in their recovery.
Is the treatment program licensed and accredited? Can you tell me about the qualifications of your counseling staff?
JourneyPure Emerald coast is proud to be an alcohol abuse treatment facility accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities as well as the State substance abuse agency. As we are continuously modifying our program to stay up-to-date on the latest best practices, we are also in the process of acquiring JCAHO accreditation as well. Our lead therapists at JourneyPure Emerald Coast are Pia Humphreys and Michael McLaughlin.
What do you expect of your patients and their families during treatment?
Alcohol addiction is a systemic disease affecting not only all aspects of the individual but their surroundings and relationships. Family plays a huge role in recovery which is why we often recommend treatment that incorporates family counseling. Family counseling is a proven method for long-term addiction recovery and healing. While we understand that addiction treatment with family counseling can be hard at times, it truly opens the door for many growth and healing possibilities. Families have the possibility of making incredible discoveries and achievements together, with ongoing treatment and a commitment to everyone’s mental health.
What about after treatment? Are there ongoing recovery support services available?
JourneyPure Emerald Coast offers ongoing support for a full year post-treatment. We work with clients to stay sober with our web-based app, JourneyPure Coaching™
JourneyPure Coaching™ reflects our true commitment to help patients overcome addiction and stay on the path of recovery.
