JourneyPure Emerald Coast’s Commitment To Healthy Living
Addiction to alcohol and drugs can destroy a person’s body, mind and spirit. At JourneyPure Emerald Coast, we believe that a holistic or total wellness approach to addiction treatment is the key to long-term recovery. In addition to evidence-based clinical addiction treatment, we look at a patient’s diet, their exercise habits and their spiritual well-being.
By cultivating mindfulness and meditation into treatment, our rehabilitation programs increase a patient’s likelihood of successfully completing a treatment plan both during and after residential treatment. Many of our clients leave our recovery center looking and feeling stronger than they have in years.
Healing the Body
Upon enrollment at our inpatient recovery center, medically-assisted detox is the first priority. Our trained clinicians provide relief from common withdrawal symptoms such as pain, sleep problems, nausea and vomiting, cravings, hallucinations, anxiety and others. This way, patients can safely and comfortably adjust to sobriety.
The next step is to replenish the body’s supply of essential nutrients. A nutritionist will create customized meal plans, designed to support healing from the inside out. Learning to prepare healthy meals and making a nourishing diet part of a permanent lifestyle are skills that serve patients long after leaving JourneyPure Emerald Coast.
Another cornerstone of healthy living is exercise. Research studies demonstrate the powerful impact physical activity can have on mood, including mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. After years of putting physical health in the backseat, patients receive the necessary support to develop healthier physical habits.
Healing the Mind
Our comprehensive rehab program devotes a great deal of time and resources to addressing the underlying issues surrounding addiction. Intensive individual and group therapy sessions will help patients identify and work through past trauma and triggers, as well as develop healthy coping mechanisms moving forward. Chemical imbalances that contribute to a patient’s susceptibility to addictive behavior are also addressed.
The social, emotional and psychological aspects of addiction are among the most challenging on the road to recovery, which is why our integrated multi-layered program incorporates a wide range of therapies. Patients will participate in multiple individual and group therapy sessions every week, in addition art therapy, private appointments with a nurse practitioner and medical doctor, and other therapies as recommended. Programs may also include therapy for co-occurring disorders.
Healing the Spirit
At JourneyPure Emerald Coast, we provide access to spiritual care in the form of meditation and integrated 12-step methods. We have counselors whose knowledge in particular practice of religious and spiritual concepts can make each patient feel welcomed and supported. We offer clients the opportunity to explore spirituality and develop a strong sense of purpose, worth and stability.
Our goal is to improve our client’s perspective of their future through life-affirming activities. You can explore your mind’s inner space through activities such as meditation, equine therapy, yoga, or songwriting. In addition, you can find a sense of inner peace through making connections with others who have walked a similar path, or by making amends with loved ones from the past.
Spiritual care at JourneyPure Emerald Coast is available to anyone who shows interest in being involved in these activities. It is never forced upon anyone who chooses to pursue alternative support services on their road to recovery and sobriety.
We believe in the power of holistic rehab, and we continually witness our clients making great strides with the help of these experiential therapies.
