Addiction Is a Chronic Disease
The Surgeon General recently released a report that addressed addiction as the current leading health concern in America. Despite common misconception addiction is in fact a chronic disease, but has rarely been treated as one. Over the past five years, it has ballooned into a widespread epidemic affecting more people annually than all cancers combined. While the disease of addiction shares many of the same characteristics as chronic conditions like diabetes or cancer, alcoholics and addicts seldom receive the proper care and ongoing support they need for lasting recovery.
Treating Addiction Long Term
At JourneyPure Emerald Coast, our commitment to your recovery doesn’t end after treatment. We believe that continuing care and ongoing support are key components of successful, long-term recovery. Through JourneyPure Coaching™, all patients receive ongoing care for a minimum of one year post-treatment at no additional cost.
Before discharge, we work with each patient to determine an aftercare plan that meets their specific needs. Post-treatment, each patient receives one-on-one recovery support through a personal JourneyPure recovery coach, continuing access to our psychiatric practitioners and our partnered community resources such as 12-step programs and/or sober living.
Using Our JourneyPure Coaching™ app, our recovery coaches input a patient’s aftercare making it easy for them to stay on track and .access their recovery support team at their fingertips 24/7. Patients that participate are less likely to relapse and the in-app communication and accountability encourages a sense of community after leaving treatment.
At JourneyPure Emerald Coast, we are committed to fighting the chronic disease of addiction. If you or a loved one need addiction treatment help, please call us today.
