Residential Addiction Rehabilitation and Recovery Program
JourneyPure Emerald Coast’s Florida residential rehabilitation program takes a very traditional approach, yet in many ways is unique. Each client receives individual therapy sessions each week, and, being a dual diagnosis facility, we provide care not only for addiction but for co-occurring challenges as well. As with most other residential treatment centers, clients entering JourneyPure Emerald Coast’s residential treatment receive:
- Full-time substance abuse treatment encompassing group and individual therapy
- Structured around-the-clock, seven-days-a-week schedule
- 24-hour staff monitoring with therapeutic and medical staff always on duty or on call to meet client needs
Why JourneyPure Emerald Coast’s Residential Treatment Program is Unique
Our residential rehabilitation recovery program features a team of drug and alcohol abuse professionals who are experts in addiction recovery. Our therapists are masters’ level addictions experts with decades of experience in the field. Residential recovery programs combine intensive group and individual counseling within a recovery living environment that treats each client with dignity, respect and confidentiality.
- While many treatment centers are focused on a specific course of treatment, such as short-stay (21 to 28-day model), or long-term (6-month-plus programs), JourneyPure Emerald Coast residential addiction treatment takes a flexible approach. Clients may remain in our program for varying lengths of time depending on their individual requirements and individual challenges. We also meld our different levels of care together so they can constitute a seamless transition program, taking a client from detox to reintegration with society without leaving the program.
- Our residential addiction treatment center has a focus on integrative treatment. We offer individual therapy sessions weekly to treat any underlying challenges that co-occur with addiction. Another unique feature of JourneyPure Emerald Coast is our degree of client freedom. Most residential rehabilitation and treatment programs isolate the client on some sort of campus during the course of their stay, expecting them to engage in social, employment and recovery communities once they get out. JourneyPure Emerald Coast provides clients support and opportunities to learn and develop Life Skills while in treatment.
We require our clients to attend local 12-step meetings. Our life skills program requires that clients prepare meals and learn about personal budgeting. They also participate in recreational therapy outings and are encouraged to take advantage of the wide variety of recreational activities available in our local resort community when the schedule permits.
A Typical Day in JourneyPure Emerald Coast’s Residential Treatment Program
Every client is unique at JourneyPure Emerald Coast’s residential rehabilitation services program. With that being said, there is a somewhat typical routine followed throughout the day. Routines such as these are very beneficial, as they offer the chance for you to develop smart, healthy habits during your time at our world-class residential addiction treatment facility in Panama City Beach, FL.
To give you an idea of what you can expect when you partner with us for services including our residential recovery programs, we have outlined a general schedule below. Again, your personalized schedule may differ slightly depending upon your needs while at JourneyPure Emerald Coast.
6AM – 8:30AM
Clients awake on their own, take care of their personal hygiene and prepare breakfast. Clients who awake early enough also have time to meditate on the beach if they choose. This period of the day is particularly important to your success. Clients who take the time to map out this timeframe the night before often find it is easier to accomplish what they need to do to start their day on a positive note.
8:30AM – 8:45AM
Transportation from the residence to the JourneyPure Emerald Coast clinic for the therapeutic day. There are multiple days during the week that either yoga, kayaking or experiential activities start the day.
9:00AM – Noon
Morning group therapy session. During this session, clients may be called out of group for individual counseling. Like all residential recovery programs, JourneyPure Emerald Coast’s is deeply rooted in counseling. However, we take a different approach and give you the freedom to help set up the topics that are addressed each day. This encourages you to take a fully proactive role in your therapy, which will help when you graduate from our residential rehabilitation facility and are in aftercare support.
Noon – 1:00PM
Lunch: clients return to the residence to prepare and eat lunch together. While it is not mandatory you engage with other clients during mealtimes, we do recommend you work on building the JourneyPure Emerald Coast community. We respect your privacy, but we also know that learning how to socialize can help during reintegration when you return home to start your recovery post-treatment.
1:00PM – 4:00PM
Afternoon therapy session/12 Step Immersion Program. Every client who becomes a part of our residential rehabilitation program is expected to attend 12 Step Programs. We believe in the strength of the 12 Step process, which has been a proven method of recovery success and reduction of drug and alcohol addiction relapse. If you have never attended a 12 Step Program, you will be surprised at how much camaraderie you feel with the other members and how it can enhance your residential addiction treatment.
4:00PM – 4:30PM
Clean up at the clinic and transportation back to the residence. Because JourneyPure Emerald Coast is built on the idea of community, we work together as a team whenever possible. This includes times when cleaning up after counseling sessions, programs and experiential therapies have taken place. During this period, you will begin to see just how valuable our sense of togetherness is.
4:30PM – 6:30PM
Prepare dinner, free time for relaxation, journaling, assignment completion and reflection. After a full day of activities, counseling, therapies and more, this is an excellent time to review what has occurred. If you have any assignments that were given during your morning or afternoon sessions, you can complete them during this period. Dinner preparation is handled individually, so you can develop the skills you need to prepare healthy, energy-supporting meals when you are in recovery at home.
6:30PM – 8:30PM
Attend a 12-step meeting (times vary slightly). Again, the 12 Step Program meetings are mandatory as a part of our residential rehabilitation.
8:30PM – 11:00PM
Free time at the residence for relaxation, journaling, assignment completion and reflection. 11 p.m. is the curfew for clients to be in their rooms. Once in your room, you can take final moments to get ready for another day at our residential recovery program.
Through group interactions and intensive counseling, you’ll learn how to live life without using drugs and alcohol, gaining the recovery tools and techniques that will support your long-term recovery. With our residential recovery program, you can recover from drug and/or alcohol abuse by addressing the underlying challenges that may have led to the addiction. Our residential programs remove you from the harmful environment and those people who may have enabled your addiction, allowing you to focus on your recovery. You have the chance to review your addictive behavior and live a free life.
Once clients complete their residential treatment, they are transitioned to a less-intensive level of care. Clients in later stages of transition enjoy greater freedoms, greater responsibilities, and act as positive role models for newer clients. These lesser levels of care are discussed in detail in sections titled Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, Aftercare and Support.
